Insights: Five Creative Lessons from Thomas Campbell

What we learned from my conversation with the artist and auteur.

As an interviewer, it’s always a challenge finding a way into a conversation like my recent chat with Thomas Campbell, especially when somebody has been interviewed as frequently as he has.

That’s why, as you know if you’ve already listened, the first ten minutes or so were about myself and Thomas trying to find some common ground upon which to build a conversation.

And that common ground, happily, turned out to be creativity, art, music and the good stuff that makes the world go round. And once Thomas understood where I was coming from, he was happy to open up about this life as an artist and his creative process.

The result was a peerless and completely brilliant insight into the creative process of one of our culture’s most titanic artistic influences.
