I love seeing science finding its way into surfers' hands. Thank you for pointing this one out, books like this are what fueled my career shift into ocean science. Getting more familiar with the types of waves has made them even more beautiful in my eye, and I hope in yours too.

Thanks Kevin. In one of my previous lives as an academic, I worked with a few people at Scripps, who, judging by how long Walter Munk took to retire (never), could still be there. Britt Raubenheimer? Bob Guza?

Hi Tony, looking forward to reading your newest book! I'm starting a project to measure sediment transport due to shoaling internal waves, so just a little offshore of your past work. It's nice to meet you, even if it is in a comment section.

Britt Raubenheimer is over at WHOI now, but we've spoken before. I have heard tales from those that have worked with Bob Guza, but haven't had the chance to meet him yet. Small world at Scripps.
