Hello friends,
Well, we’re a few months in and the community element to Substack is rapidly becoming my favourite part of the Looking Sideways universe. The recent Reading and On Allyship threads in particular have been properly fascinating.
I’ve also been vaguely experimenting with the chat feature. But now chats are available on t’internet without people needing to download the app I thought I’d give it another crack. Inspired by that awesome Reading thread, I thought we could make the latest chat a Looking Sideways Book Group, and share our recent reads and recommendations.
Click the link above to share your latest read. A few chat-savvy friends of LS are already on there, and hopefully a few more of you will join in.
Even if you’re a lurker (and I know there are thousands of ‘em out there), there are some great recommendations on there already.
Incidentally, readers and listeners can now also start their own chats (and some people have already done so), so if you want to ask me a question or have any recommendations for new interviewees, Open Threads or just want to say hello, fire away.
I’m looking forward to adding to my book pile through the recommendations anyway. This time around, I'll also offer copies of my own book Looking Sideways Vol. 1 for my favourite comments.
Looking Sideways is proudly ad-free and reader and listener supported. Thanks to all my paid subscribers, who help keep the podcast and newsletter free for everybody. To support Looking Sideways with a free or paid subscription, click below.
