When it comes to combining mountain bike trails with rewilding there’s a great example in Makara Peak in Wellington, New Zealand. Hand in hand with developing a great network of trails the supporters group has restored native bush across what used to be degraded farmland. IIRC it’s basically a partnership between the volunteer group and the city council.
Good news about Bike Park Wales.

super interesting Jon. Thanks for sharing
Great updates as ever Matt.
The Cole piece throws up a ton of concerns- especially the lack of accountability and the current state of the cancel culture we live in.
Thank you for giving this story the space it needs to be examined.
Mind if I ask a question - what do you mean by cancel culture in this context? I never really understand what people mean by this phrase.
I cannot get enough of Simple magic. I mean, it is a lot to read every time but every time I do it, I just love his writing!
Of course, you made me click "order now" for a new book about waves... Of course you did!
And then I read the specific post.. and I still can't get enough of the writing but it hurts to read such words ...
Everywhere, we still have such a long road ahead of us for accountability and healthy caring about people.
Yeah he’s so great. Tony has a blog coming next week as well 💪
The running video is fresh and slightly unexpectedly a good watch. Who knew?
Ha yeah I was surprised as well
Appreciate you reading and sharing the piece , Matt
Such a great piece Cole, and what you say about the state of skate journalism is true for surf and snow journalism too
