It’s hard to escape the discourse around AI at the moment. But what will it actually mean when it comes to communities and creative careers?
This was the topic of today’s bonus episode, a special Looking Sideways x Db Journey roundtable, the second half of the London Live Creative Exchange double header I hosted with my pals at Db in June 2024.
Once again, we hired Hoxton Arches. Once again, we invited a load of friends of LS and Db to come along for free. Once again, it was packed and vibes were high.
The subject for this second session? ‘Creativity and Community in the Age of AI’, with Run Dem Crew’s legendary Charlie Dark MBE; Dan Adams, the man behind the excellent Read and Destroy book; brilliant photographer and creative Dani KM; and Db’s Art Director William Koitrand.
As regulars will know, our Creative Exchanges are all about sharing the knowledge, know-how and wisdom of our panelists with our growing community.
And in this discussion, my three panelists shared their views on what the rapidly-changing technological landscape will mean to them, their communities - and the creatives of the future looking to follow in their footsteps.

At times moving, punchy and combative, but always honest and emotional, this was a cracker. Huge thanks to the panelists and audience for getting so stuck in.
