Annie Fast’s 5 Favourite Tweeters

“I joined Twitter in 2008. At the time it was a place to talk into the void. There were years when it was all about snowboard contests and content. Now it’s an echo chamber of endlessly breaking news and commentary, plus some ski and snowboard industry friends. For better or worse, it’s my go to social media channel”

1. Anne Helen Petersen

“She’s the senior culture writer at BuzzFeedNews, but she doesn’t live in NYC, she lives in Montana, which makes her perspective especially interesting to me”.

2. Todd Richards

“Todd is my go-to for side commentary during snowboard contests. Sometimes he even tweets while commentating – I don’t know how he does it. He’s also one of the only snowboarders on Twitter, and he’s funny”.

3. John Branch

“John Branch is my all-time favorite sportswriter. He writes about the sports I find interesting—snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing and climbing for the New York Times. He’s also based in California, not New York, which is refreshing”

4. Skiers

“Dave Amirault @ozskier is a Mountain marketer and also part of the skiers of Twitter, of which there are many. I follow skiers on twitter way more than in real life, including a bunch of talented writers: Derek Taylor @dtpowski, Mike Rogge @skiiingrogge, Jason Blevins @jasonblevins, Sierra Shafer @sierra_time, and Gordy Megroz @GordyMegroz”.

5. Best of Nextdoor

“Levity, people. It’s like the meme accounts you follow on Insta, except on Twitter”.
