They’ve got together to form the Red Clouds Collective, a group comprising similarly like-minded creative individuals from the Portland area with a shared heritage in action sports and alternative culture.
The idea is to give them an online outlet for their collective creativity, by getting their individual project to market as quickly and unobtrusively as possible. To do so, Brown and Neefus are using their industry knowledge – Brown was a pro for Burton and co-founder of Capita Snowboards back in the day, while Neefus worked for industry success story Grenade Gloves – to create an idealistic environment that is designed to let the creativity flow. The tagline – ‘Making it together, a company of friends’ sums it up pretty well.
Artists, photographers, musicians, woodworkers and designers in the Collective include Owen Johnson, Taylor Brubaker, David Wien and Jason Levinson, as well as Brown and Seth Neefus, and the onus is on ‘products with an honest approach, understandable and practical design’.
