Snowboard photography website radshot.com has just started selling some of its award-winning shots online. Run by the highly respected editor of Whitelines Snowboard Magazine, Radshot has access to the world’s best photographers and chooses an incredibly diverse selection of snowboarding photography. Here’s what owner Ed Blomfield has to say about the move to selling prints:

“I started RadShot because over the years of editing Whitelines, as the digital age has exploded, I’ve been getting more and more amazing photos and just don’t have the space to run them all in the magazine. Even when you do publish a sick shot, it’s so easy for someone to miss that particular issue. I’m in awe of the riding and photographic talent out there and felt like it deserved a dedicated website where you could appreciate the images in a clean, gallery-style setting – too often they’re struggling to compete for attention with videos and news. So far I’ve just been posting one ‘Rad Shot of the Day’ which I’m sharing with my Facebook fans and Twitter followers. It’s just a simple blog really but people seem to dig getting a top quality shred pic in their news feed, and the photographers are all stoked to be part of a collective that can help show off their portfolios. The next natural step has been to introduce a print store; working on WL I’ve had quite a few requests from readers for pictures but it’s an awkward process of introducing them to photographers who are usually based overseas and/or travelling all the time, then figuring out a price etc. You can hunt about on the web instead, but most of the snowboard posters and stuff you’ll find are rights-free old school cheese! With RadShot the idea is that you can easily order some legit wall art from the world’s best snowboard snappers (guys like Jeff Curtes, Blotto, Scott Serfas and Cole Barash) right here in the UK. I’m offering framed pictures, canvases and straightforward snowboarding prints in various sizes, which all come with a signature label from the photographer, but the beauty is you’re not limited to what’s on the site – I figure that since I know most of the guys I can hunt down pretty much any image someone’s fallen in love with and organise a print. For instance you have seen a great pic elsewhere in the main gallery or in a magazine) then drop me a line and I will endeavour to fulfill a custom order. Every snowboard print is a high quality digital reproduction handled by a professional photo lab. Find out more about the different options here, and check out the room preview for an idea of how the available sizes will look on your wall.”
